CUSTODY/VISITATION & SUPPORT
CRIMINAL AND JUVENILE LAW
When there are children in a marriage that is breaking down, child visitation (time sharing) can be the most difficult and most important matters to address. At Raymond R. Pines, P.A., we are committed to the principle that every child has a right to a strong relationship with both parents. Whether representing parents who are divorced or parents who have never been married, our lawyers will work a out unique and practical parenting plan that is in the best interests of the children and fair to our client.
As of October 1, 2008, the State of Florida has mandated that a parenting plan with a time-sharing schedule be implemented for parents subject to a divorce or paternity proceeding. Florida courts no longer use the terms child custody, custodial parent, non-custodial parent or visitation to describe parental rights. Our attorneys stay on top of these changes and can help clients understand how these changes may affect their case. We assist clients in negotiating and drafting fair, flexible and descriptive "parenting/time-sharing plans" - Florida's new version of visitation time. To learn more about time-sharing and the changes in the law, view our summary of Florida’s “parenting plan”.
If circumstances have changed significantly since your child custody and visitation order was issued, you may be eligible for modification of that order. Drug use or alcohol abuse by a parent, child abuse or neglect and a child’s age and activities are examples of significant changes.
Time sharing plans can be complicated and an experienced family law attorney can present alternatives to traditional views that benefit not only the parent but the child who desires to spend quality time with both parents.
With over three decades of experience, we understand that the problems presented by your divorce case will come and go, but that your relationship with your children is a lifelong bond. Protecting that relationship is our first priority. Contact Raymond R. Pines, P.A. today to learn more about how we can help you with visitation/time-sharing plan.
